Where are they going, and what’s the reference?

Give the student’s name, host city and the academic year if you want it printed. Include your exact farewell line or a phrase in the language they’ll use. Say whether you want a book, suitcase or another original picture, and what should be left out.

A semester, a full year or two different placements?

A year abroad doesn’t always fit into one calendar year or one city. If they’re splitting the stay, you could include both places. If it’s just a semester, say that. The shirt should describe the plan they’ve actually got rather than the generic version of studying abroad.

Use the dates that belong to the placement Give 2027–28 if that’s the academic year you want, or leave dates off while the plans are unsettled. A send-off party date and a host-university start date aren’t the same thing. Explain which one should appear.
Check the phrase before asking for it If the joke is in French, Spanish or another language, provide the exact checked wording with its accents. Say what it means if that helps explain the picture. Don’t rely on the Maker to turn an inside joke into a correct translation.
Include a reference from the flat or course A familiar book, the kitchen joke or your usual group-chat line can make the gift feel like it came from you. Keep personal details out if they wouldn’t want them printed. You don’t need a university crest to show who it’s for.

Can I include two host cities or an academic year across two calendar years?

Yes. Give both city names and the exact academic year you want, such as 2027–28. Explain the arrangement and check the preview. Leave unsettled dates out rather than asking the design to guess them.

Can the farewell joke be in another language?

Provide the exact wording, including accents, and check it with someone who knows the language before ordering. Explain its meaning if that helps the picture. Read the generated text carefully; the Maker isn’t proof of a correct translation.

Is this for the send-off or for a whole study-abroad group?
