Which side is going to the social? Use the name the group calls itself: firsts, seconds, vets or the whole club. If friends and coaches are coming too, decide whether the wording should include them. A shirt for one side doesn’t have to speak for the entire club.
The position or the person? A reference to the scrum, touchline or captain can work without putting every player’s name on the shirt. If you want position numbers, explain which game and positions you mean. Check them rather than assuming every rugby team uses the same setup.
Keep the clubhouse story understandable Give us the context, then the line you want printed. Leave out personal details someone wouldn’t want on a shirt. A muddy ball, bench or pair of boots might explain the joke better than a long paragraph.

Can the design be for union or league?

Yes. Tell us which one you play and explain the reference you want on the social shirt. If numbers or positions matter to the joke, supply the details and check the preview. These are casual cotton T-shirts, not rugby playing jerseys.

Can we include coaches and the people who don’t play?

Yes. Make the idea about the whole group if that is who the social is for. You can use a shared clubhouse reference instead of listing players. The available shirts are adult S–2XL (XS in Premium); this page doesn’t offer junior team sizes.

Can everyone have their own nickname on the shirt?

Create and review a separate design for each different nickname. The Maker doesn’t automatically personalise a squad list or manage team payments. Back printing, sleeve printing and embroidery aren’t selectable options here.
